    Presentation Title:

    The Intelligent Mechatronics and RFID (IMaR) Technology Gateway is based at IT Tralee and is part of the Technology Gateway Network, a nationwide resource for industry delivering solutions on near to market problems for industrial partners. IMaR provides solutions for companies using Intelligent Mechatronics, RFID and Internet of Things. We will present how IMaR’s expertise is delivering for our industrial partners and is available to those aiming to become a part of Industry 4.0.

    Speaker Bio:

    Dr. Pat Doody is an experienced Researcher and Lecturer in the School of Business, Computing and Humanities in the Institute of Technology Tralee (ITT). Pat is the Research Director (RFID, Internet of Things and Sensors) of the Intelligent Mechatronics and RFID Technology Gateway which is part of a nationally funded network of 12 Technology Gateways whose role is to deliver technology solutions through collaboration on projects which are close to the market needs of Irish industry. Previously Pat Co-founder and was Director of the Centre for Innovation in Distributed Systems (CIDS) which was founded in partnership with the Forum for Supply Chain Innovation at MIT. His research interests include Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Internet of Things (IOT) and Data Analytics including Big Data, Reality Mining and the application of artificial intelligence based neural network algorithms. Pat is currently Chair of the Management Board of RFID in Europe (www.rfidineurope.eu), which was launched in May 2012. 


    Pat is an applied researcher/technologist and has collaborated on over 100 industry based projects with all sizes of organisations from start-ups through to large corporations in the last 5 years. Pat obtained his BSc. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Limerick, Ireland in 1991 and PhD in mathematics focusing on artificial intelligence and neural networks from the University Of Limerick, Ireland in 1998
